Went to Taronga Zoo with Caitlin today. It was awesome, if expensive. I'm starting to worry I wont have enough money while I'm away... I should be fine though. It's looking good where they are doing it up, but I couldn't find the flying foxes and the path to the giant croc was closed. And I got burnt... under my chin. How is that even possible??? My skin just WANTS to burn. Stupid sunlight does nothing for my vampire complexion. *mutters* Which brings us on to today's song choice: Early Sunsets Over Monroeville This was the first song I loved off their debut album and is still one of my ultimate favourites. If this song was recorded on either of their two newer albums, it wouldn't have been the same. The gritty sound, the raw emotions, the agony in Gerard's vocals; these things MAKE the song. Pristine recording in an expensive studio instead of someone's basement would have taken these aspects from the song. Late dawns and early sunsets, just like my favorite scenes. Then holding hands and life was perfect, just like up on the screen, And the whole time while always giving, counting your face among the living. Up and down escalators, pennies and colder fountains. Elevators and half price sales, trapped in by all these mountains. Running away and hiding with you, I never thought they'd get me here - not knowing you'd change from just one bite, I fought them all off just to hold you close and tight. But does anyone notice?
